Finger pinned to his mouth as he crossed the finish line, a gesture to silence the doubters who thought the golden thread that runs through his core had started to fray.

The likes of Mo Farah showing great endurance and drive to win gold in the 10,000 metres and Sir Chris Hoy stormed into the record books when he won his 6th gold medal in the keirin cycling to be crowned asBritain’s greatest Olympian. Team GB have inspired a generation and made our nation proud, theLondon games have made history and created an electric atmosphere that will not be forgotten in years to come.
