An opportunity exists to join the team based in London as a Technical Engineer.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Technical Director, the Technical Engineer (On-Site) role covers handling of client support issues at the client site as well as issues logged by telephone or email.
Day to day supervision of the role is managed by the Helpdesk Team Leader and Technical Team Leaders.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: (This list is not absolute or restrictive, but indicates approximate duties and responsibilities that may be redefined pursuant to operational needs.)
Assists with client systems administration on-site or remotely as directed by or under the supervision of the Technical Team Leaders and Helpdesk Team Leader.
Install and maintain computer hardware components: implement and administer computer and network operating software; provide Help-Desk and technical support to clients; enhance current systems as authorized when upgrades become available and according to system requirements.
Provide technical assistance in preparation of various reports and maintenance of system documentation: recommend hardware and software replacement and/or upgrades as needed; maintain knowledge of current technology; assist user departments in defining their computer and software-related needs.
Handle escalated support calls from other engineers regarding any client site. This may involve then becoming the single point of contact for other engineers, client representatives and third parties through to resolution.
Act as a project engineer in deploying new equipment under the supervision of the technical team leaders. As required, join the sales team for development of technical proposals and handle client queries in a pre-sales environment.
Working hours are 9.00am to 5:30pm
Must hold full driving licence
