DevOps Engineer

DevOps Engineer: This is an opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Linux and Cloud Platforms (AWS strongly preferred) to influence / create a DevOps culture in an award-winning employer (within a – relatively – regulation free sector) working in an agile environment with / evaluating bleeding edge technologies.

Technical Skills:

• Experience of working with AWS to support cloud-based infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of key AWS technologies with EC2 as a minimum.
• Experience with the ‘infrastructure-as-code’ paradigm
• Good working knowledge of Linux server configuration, especially Apache or Nginx.
• Awareness of our key development tools, including PHP 7 and MySQL 5.5.
• Working knowledge of a CI tool such as Bamboo or Jenkins.
• Good experience of working with source code control systems such as Git.

Duties and Responsibilities (not exclusive):

• The role requires the successful candidate to design and develop infrastructure components within an agile team
• The successful candidate would need to take ownership for the automation, deployment and operation of significant layers of infrastructure
• Coaching and mentoring junior technical members of staff

Essential to have:

PHP Developer (Remote)

PHP Developer: Commercially focused and naturally experimental, you will work within the web development team within the product conversion department to implement changes that will give the customers a best in class experience across all brand websites.

Essential Experience:

 Commercial PHP experience
 HTML/JavaScript
 Experience with MVC frameworks
 MySQL/MSSQL databases
 Version control such as Git/SVN

You will be responsible for generating all ideas that influence change on the website and ultimately decide on your own work, along with testing, releasing and monitoring the impact of your changes on the business – an unusually rewarding role. You will work alongside analysts to deep dive into data to come up with your very own ideas to improve the website, then work with the UX designers to bring your idea to life in concept format, then finally work with senior developers to implement your change and get it live on the website.

Desirable Experience:

 Experience working on high volume transactional e-commerce websites
 Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban
 Experience of conversion rate optimisation
 Degree in Computer science or related discipline

Expected Responsibilities:

Mobile App Developer

Mobile App Developer: Award winning eCommerce business looking for a talented App Developer to join a multi-skilled team of designers, developers and analysts. The team are responsible for websites and mobile apps across multiple brands and affiliates – optimising them to ensure a smooth customer journey. This role will join us at an exciting time as the business makes a strategic focus on improving the mobile app experience. The team will be pivotal in delivering these changes to fulfil the goal of the programme.

Job Role:
 Work on mobile apps for iOS and/or Android.
 Develop new features based on user testing and customer research.
 Work with the rest of the product team taking ideas implemented for the website, analysing them and implementing similar approaches in the mobile app
 Responsible for developing and testing code following best practises
 Working with designers to ensure the best experience for all phases of the user journey

Essential Experience:
 2 years’ experience of mobile app development on either iOS or Android
 Java, Kotlin
 Swift
 XCode or Android Studio
 Experience of submitting apps on Google Play and Apple app store
 Experience of working on apps currently available in the app stores
 Git and/or other Source Control systems
 Working in Agile Environment

Desirable Experience:
 Undergraduate degree or equivalent IT qualification
 Objective-C
 Previous experience of A/B testing
 Experience of using ReactiveX (RxJava, RxSwift etc)
 Interest in UX and providing innovative new features
 Unit testing
