Business Analyst

Business Analyst / Operations Performance Analyst (mainly work from home / wfh / remote) – Process & Implementation – a challenging, rewarding vacancy for an experienced Analyst, reporting to the Operations Performance Manager. Working within a cross functional team in the Operations department, the Operations Performance Analyst is a key strategic role aimed at delivering an improved level of performance across the business.

 

The individual must excel at managing and manipulating data and will use this to drive execution through, maintenance of business systems, improvement initiatives, projects and business reporting.

 

The role would suit a flexible individual who is a proactive and natural problem solver, resourceful enough to find the answers without waiting for them to arrive and above all strives to challenge the norm.

 

Skills:

 

  • Highly adept with Excel and all Microsoft packages
  • Any Power BI, Maximo (or other AM or ERP system) highly beneficial
  • Strong Analytical skills.

o             Understanding patterns in data and the modelling of data that empowers end users to answer their own questions

o             Ability to derive and automate business KPI’s

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to drive projects to completion
  • Knowledge of business processes
  • Knowledge of lean principles
  • Effective time management and the ability to work on multiple projects

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

 

  • Proactive analysis of myriad data to identify trends, determine efficiency improvements and increase reliability.
  • Existing Power BI report maintenance & the creation of new Operational Power BI reports
  • Creation & maintenance of processes to ensure all critical tasks are documented and remain relevant
  • Expectation to work in Northampton HQ periodically (couple of times per month)
  • Requirement to travel periodically to UK sites in order to fully understand the business

Senior Infrastructure & Operations Engineer

Senior Infrastructure and Operations Engineer: Reporting directly to their Head of IT, this newly created role will take responsibility for the operations of secure and highly available IT systems, platforms, servers, and networks; providing 3rd Line technical support to the business.

Project work will include planning and implementing upgrades, new system installations and ensuring best practice Cloud management including FinOps.

Leadership responsibility for a service desk function comprising 2nd Liner / 1st Liner / IT Apprentice is expected.

NB Role needs to be office based for 2/3 days per week after initial ~3 months of 5 days a week immersion in the business. HQ is in Northampton.

Key Tasks

  • Install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the IT estate
  • Monitor the IT infrastructure and operating environments
  • Respond to incidents and problems
  • Manage capacity and growth of systems
  • Support with deployment of new technologies and solutions as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, networks and hardware
    • Troubleshoot problems and be the point of escalation for the 1st and 2nd line roles in the team
    • Build, administer, support and maintain solutions as directed and according to departmental policy
    • Support third party provision of IT Operations services and provide expertise to programmes and projects, as well as the development of architectural solutions for technology
    • Provide input into budget, technology strategy and roadmaps, projects and tasks
    • Line and/or task management of IT team
  • Management of external IT support contracts
  • Supporting the Head of IT with Budget management
  • Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders for development projects
  • Maintain and align IT strategy in line with business requirements
  • Ensure effective provision of data backup and disaster recovery services
  • Responsible for the robust delivery of the following services

o Data and voice network infrastructure (LAN and WAN)

o Network authentication and security

o Cloud services

o Business applications

o End user desktop/laptop provision, upgrade and maintenance

o Fixed and mobile telephony

Person Detail

  • Proven track record in delivering reliable and robust services to business stakeholders
    • Excellent communicator at all levels of business with the ability to relate technical issues to non-technical colleagues
  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • Financially aware of technology decisions on budget or FinOps for Cloud
  • Familiarity with IT service delivery standards (e.g. ITIL)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Technical awareness of current IT infrastructure, application and telecommunication technologies in particular cloud, SaaS and integration technologies
